Charleston, S.C. – Robbins Construction Group, a full-service design-build construction firm focusing on site selection, preconstruction, and project management has been awarded the design and construction services for the Park Circle Community Center and new Inclusive Playground and ball field.   

Robbins Construction Group will be partnering with Red Iron Architects, LLC and HLA, Inc. to provide full design and construction services for the project.  

The project consists of demolition of the center of Park Circle and the design and construction of a new 16,600 square-foot community center, farmers market, and the highly anticipated inclusive playground and ball field.   

The 55,000 square-foot playground will be North Charleston’s largest playground that every child will be able to enjoy, regardless of physical, emotional, or mental disabilities. This will be the largest of its kind in the tri-county area.

Red Iron Architects is underway with the design process and Robbins Construction Group is scheduled to mobilize May 2nd to commence demolition with project completion set for Summer 2023. The design team consists of Red Iron Architects, HLA (civil engineer/landscape architect), DWG Engineering for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering and Fortress Engineering for structural.

Charleston, S.C. – Robbins Construction Group, a full-service design-build construction firm focusing on site selection, preconstruction, and project management has broken ground on Gingerbug, a 3,000 square-foot restaurant.

Located on Johns Island, South Carolina at 2901 Maybank Highway the new restaurant will bring new cuisine to the fast-growing area. The restaurant boasts a full commercial kitchen to be able to provide a variety of culinary options.

“This project team has been great to work with through the preconstruction process.” Thomas Robbins, Robbins’ Business Development Manager mentions, “We are thrilled to be apart of bringing another amazing restaurant to the Johns Island area.”

Taylor Hardy, Vice President – Operations at Hardy World, LLC commenced the ceremony by thanking everyone for being in attendance and showing recognition to the entire design team for the successful completion of Hardy World’s first investment into the Charleston Region. The design team’s three core members included Robbins Construction Group, HLA Civil engineering, and Red Iron Architects.

The project was Hardy World’s first in the lowcountry; Taylor expressed Charleston’s significant barriers to entry, and she stressed the importance of having a solid team working alongside the developer to make a project such as Triad some to fruition. Taylor notes Hardy World’s one simple mission to add value to everything the company does. The developer had been eyeing Charleston for potential development for a while, and they are extremely excited to have their first project under their belt in the market. 

Moreover, Taylor shared a bit about her background and the story behind her family’s business. Hardy World’s owner & founder, Joesph A. Hardy, is the visionary behind 84 Lumber Company and Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. He brought his business skills of running a five-star luxury resort and global home improvement chain to commercial real estate development. Hardy created a team knowledgeable in all aspects of industrial, office, retail, mixed-use, and hospitality to develop and manage world-class properties throughout the United States. “The efficiency of this project was a rarity,” says Barry Whalen, president of HLA Inc., “This product serves such a unique service to the park and through that, adds value.”

Ryan Welch, principal from Lee & Associates notes this is the only product of its kind in the prestigious Palmetto Commerce Park that offers space divisible down to 5,200 square feet bays. 

Hardy World, LLC and Lee & Associates also announced the speculative building have signed the first lease with a confidential client. Robbins Construction Group is pleased to have the opportunity to upfit Suite 105 for the first signed tenant! 

Hardy World recently closed on an additional property within the City of North Charleston and notes the company’s interest in continuing to invest in the Tri-County.
